The Outlaw by Cuestix

My review of the Outlaw is as follows: for a "branded" cue made overseas, it is one of the better performers. We hesitate at the introduction of branded cues because we've seen some fail. The same maker introduced the "Blade," at the same time, it had problems had to be re-designed. But the Outlaw has been a solid performer. It could be because it is made from Ebony wood which is very hard. It has stacked leather wraps and extra shafts are available in 12 & 13mm. It does not have the low deflection shaft popular with the league players or the Uni-loc joint found on the Lucasi's, but it will fit nicely in your rustic game room. All of the Outlaw Cues are $225 and below.

Finally, these Jessie James Bowman cues are newly available through one of our favorite custom cue makers, Jacoby. We offer 12% off retail in our Kit Price. Obviously much more expensive, but custom cues play better than production cues. Custom cues rarely have low deflection shafts. Since the wood is treated more extensively than the “production-line” cues, hitting with custom cues is almost always better than hitting with those made in large batches. These may or may not still be available in 2024.

The Upgraded Short Cue

If you will need shorter cues in your rustic game room, McDermott makes the best of the smaller cues (52”-48”) The consensus is that most shorter cues will feel “stubby” with little flex in the shaft. Because McDermott pays attention to detail, these shorter cues will play better than most because the shafts will be shaped more like the longer 58” cue.
