He spends a little too long in the beginning of the video talking about how dark the board is under normal lighting (normal lighting seen below), so if you need a quick peak at the lit board, simply jump to about 2/3 of the way through and see what the result is!
Here is the picture so that you can get a better idea. The Backboard does not come with the light (the red piece) and the price for the light is somewhere in the $249 range (so far). It may come down later for those of you willing to wait. Scroll down to see another view.
